Policies.

  • Please arrive just a few minutes early to your session. I do not have an indoor waiting area to accommodate early arrivals. If you arrive late to your appointment, your session will be shortened accordingly. All conversations are considered part of your scheduled session. If I am running late, I will extend your session time accordingly.

  • Please reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Life happens and it is my policy to allow one "grace pass" for the first missed appointment or appointment cancelled less than 24 hours. However, if it happens a second time, your session will not be rescheduled and you will need to book a new session.

    Illness and emergency are exceptions to this policy. Please do not hesitate to reschedule your appointment if you are sick.

  • Although healing can sometimes be a sensual experience, it is not a sexual experience. Any sexual advancements or requests by the client will be grounds for terminating the session immediately and full payment will be charged.

  • If client arrives under the influence of any mind altering substance, the session will be cancelled and full payment will be charged.

  • Paying for a session is a commitment to yourself. No refunds will be given. You are welcome to reschedule your appointment for another time or gift your session to a friend.

  • We do not offer refunds, so please order carefully.

  • In exchange for free shipping, please understand that there are limitations with this choice. As we do not have a storefront with regular hours, it will be up to the customer to be patient and understand the tradeoff. **It may take up to 6 weeks for orders to arrive.** You will be notified when your order is ready and your order will be left in pickup basket outside the office door. It will be up to you to come pick up at your convenience. Suite door is generally unlocked mondays-fridays 11am-4pm, but this depends on if a practitioner in the suite is working and is never guaranteed. hands of the heart does not know the daily schedule of other practitioners in the suite. often suite is unlocked earlier and closes later and sometimes open on saturdays, but no regular time is set. it will be up to the customer to come back another time if suite door is locked without requiring frequent communication back and forth with hands of the heart.

    It is strongly preferred for all orders to be shipped.‍ ‍however, this option is available for customers who are willing to accept these limitations. please notify hands of the heart if you will not be able to pickup your order for more than a week (eg, if you are out of town), and hands of the heart will hold your bag inside the office until you let us know that you are ready to pick up your order in the next few days. hands of the heart would appreciate a quick note to let us know when you have received your items (call/text/email).

    • all laka herb farm products: orders will generally be shipped out 1-2 business days from receipt of your order. on occasion, if hands of the heart is on the road and traveling, orders will be shipped out upon our return. you will receive tracking info once your order has been shipped.

  • Clients will be greeted at your appointment time. There are a few chairs and a bathroom at the hallway if you arrive early. All conversations before and after work on the table are included in your appointment time, so please choose your session length long enough to feel satisfied with your time on the table. Generally at least 90 minutes is the sweet spot for a session for most people and strongly preferred. new clients can expect to spend an additional 15 minutes on your first appointment so that i can learn a little bit about you and your history.

    • Cleanliness. Come to the session clean and without other lotions or oils on your skin. To receive the full benefit of medicinal essential oils, it is important that they are layered directly on the skin for absorption without interference or barriers from other skin care products.

    • Plan to take it easy after your session. The session can continue to integrate for up to several days after your session. Whenever possible, schedule sessions when you have time after your session to rest, relax and take care of you. It is not uncommon to hear that sessions with me are "very detoxifying," which means that emotions might start coming to the surface or you might feel physical symptoms of detoxification afterwards or even days later. This "old stuff" is coming up to release, so giving yourself time and space to allow it to release is so important. You might feel deeply tired and/or emotional. This is very common. If you can, plan on taking it easy the rest of the day, take a stroll into nature, take a salt bath, meditate or anything else deeply nourishing. This will allow this "old stuff" to release and once it passes, you should feel invigorated and thoroughly refreshed.

    • Hydrate. Always drink extra water after sessions to help the body move out toxins after sessions.

  • Absolutely. In fact, sometimes sound healing sessions done remotely are even more effective because there are no distractions. There is no opportunity for your mind to make judgements about what is happening. When receiving remotely there is no other choice but to simply surrender.

  • Sound healing clients remain fully dressed on the table. Aromatherapy + healing touch clients may choose to undress and be draped like a typical therapeutic massage, or may choose to wear loose clothes and essences can still be applied around clothing. Although healing work can sometimes be a sensual experience, it is not a sexual experience. Any sexual advancements or requests by the client will be grounds for terminating the session immediately and payment will not be refunded.
