Our Highland Lavender grows wild on Mt. de Cheiron in France.  Our 1400m Highland Lavender is hand-gathered, as no harvesting equipment could possibly be brought up the mountain to the areas where the lavender grows between the rocks.   • "On one of our first visits to France, Barry and I attended an aromatherapy conference, where  we met Alain and Sylviane, the distillers of the highland lavender.  They invited us to visit them in their village, high in the mountains above Nice and we, of course, accepted their invitation.  Alain and Sylviane gave us a tour of their garden, their distillery, and pointed out the area on the mountain where they were harvesting the lavender.   A couple of years later, we took a group to visit them, and had the opportunity to experience harvesting the lavender, seeing the lavender oil being produced, and  then actually sleeping in the lavender overnight in sleeping bags!  Unforgettable.  We called it our "million star hotel."  Thus, the Highland Lavender has a cherished place in the history of Wisdom of the Earth."
